Plano ISD is excited to announce the launch of our new volunteer management system, VOLY, for the 2020-2021 school year. The new system is now live and can be accessed at pisd.edu/volunteer. While Plano ISD is not able to host volunteers onsite at this time, logging in now will allow you to get a head start on completing your volunteer application, online orientation and criminal history check.
These three requirements must be completed annually to be eligible to volunteer in Plano ISD.
Frigo Cheese Heads along with Snoopy and the Peanuts gang will be awarding one lucky K-8 school with $10,000 (and 10 runner-up schools with $2,000). Simply nominate your school by Oct. 30 for the chance to win! See official rules and details—and encourage others to nominate your school, too!
Virtual classes on various topics related to Social Emotional Learning for Parent, held twice a month, can be found HERE.
For more information or to learn more about Social Emotional Learning in Plano ISD, please contact Sharon Bradley, director of family and social services, sharon.bradley@pisd.edu, or visit www.pisd.edu/SEL.

We're kicking off Healthy Lifestyles with one Healthy Habit at a time.
As part of Healthy Lifestyles, National PTA has partnered with Nestlé® Pure Life® advocating for healthy hydration practices in school for students and at home for families.
For the week of August 24 - 30, PTA members can participate in this challenge and giveaway. Complete any six of these eight following ideas during the week of August 24-30 to be eligible to receive a year’s supply of Nestlé® Pure Life®.
1. Watch this video.
2. Post a picture of your water trackers on social media.
3. Make fruit-infused water for the family to drink.
4. Recycle your plastic water bottles.
5. Complete an activity and show us how you hydrate before, during and after that activity.
6. Incorporate fruits and vegetables with high water content into your meals and snacks.
7. Share why your family chooses to hydrate with water and check out “How to Drink More Water Throughout the Day.”
8. Show us the drinks you are swapping out for water and tell us why.

As we reach the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, we want to thank our Plano ISD families for the patience and support you’ve demonstrated during this uncertain time of implementing remote learning. Your feedback is important to us and will help our teachers, staff and administrators better support your needs as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.

I wanted to take just a moment and thank everyone who has volunteered their time and energy towards the SMS PTA this year.
Whether you gave a little of your time or a lot, your contributions matter! Giving your time is one of the most selfless acts, and I wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate your efforts.
I especially want to thank everyone for their patience these last few weeks as we’ve had to make major adjustments to our procedures during this unprecedented time. I hope we set an example of how a volunteer organization can run during a time of crisis and uncertainty.
We made a great team and I couldn’t have done much without such an amazing group of people!
