- Fourth VP Ways & Means -- responsible for fundraisers, including grocery stores, World Wear, and Amazon Smile; oversee Spirit Nights, School Supplies, School Store, Spirit Wear.
- Council Delegate -- attend monthly meetings of the Plano Council of PTAs and report to the SMS Board, represent Schimelpfenig MS PTA as a voting member of Plano Council.
- Community Outreach -- assist community as needed with charitable drives and endeavors.
- Diversity -- work with community on cultural inclusiveness initiatives, including helping to coordinate Schimelpfenig Diversity Night in the spring; work with SAGE position.
- Healthy Lifestyles -- promote healthy lifestyle initiatives in the Schimelpfenig community.
Special Committee Chair positions:
- Fall Social -- plan and oversee Fall Social with committee assistance.
- Spring Social -- plan and oversee Spring Social with committee assistance.
- Eighth Grade End-of-Year Celebration -- plan and oversee end-of-year celebration activities for 8th graders.
Schimelpfenig PTA is offering a $500 scholarship in support of the higher education goals of graduating Plano ISD seniors who are alumni of Schimelpfenig Middle School.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following qualifications:
● Is a senior who will graduate in 2021 from a Plano ISD school.
● Attended Schimelpfenig Middle School from grades 6-8
● Must be a current student member of their high school PTSA
● Will be enrolled and attend full-time in an accredited college or a technical institute in the summer or fall immediately following high school graduation.
● Submit a completed application by May 12.

FREE! Vendor Fair Bag Pick Drive Through will be on Saturday, April 24th at the Plano ISD Administration Building at 2700 W. 15th Street, from 9:00 a.m. until the bags are gone!

- VP of Communications: Oversees website and newsletter.
- Treasurer: Manages PTA funds, maintains all bank records and presents financial statements.
- Environmental Chair: Oversees environmental improvements on campus
- Hospitality Chair: Responsible for organizing teacher treats and luncheons periodically throughout the year.
- Homecoming Co-Chairs (2): Two volunteers need to co-chair and plan and organize the Homecoming dance in the Fall with committee assistance.
- Red Ribbon Week: Oversees activities on campus for the week-long drug-free campaign.
- End of Course Test Assemblies: Organizes assemblies for students to attend during End of Course Exams.

The Gateway Summer Engineering Camp will be a virtual, yet hands-on, project-based camp designed to introduce incoming 7th and 8th grade middle school students to the fundamentals of STEM and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering courses within Plano ISD. Certified PLTW instructors provide expert instruction in a fun, exciting environment using leading-edge technologies to sample engineering related activities and projects and get a taste of how fun it can be to be an engineer.

At its December 8th meeting, the PISD Board of Trustees approved the 2021-2022 school calendar.
School will start on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 and end on Friday, May 27, 2022. Winter break will run from Dec. 20-Jan. 3, followed by a staff work day on Jan. 4. Spring break will be a bit longer next year, with students off from March 7-14 and returning to classes on Tuesday, March 15.
Due to Spring Break March 8-12, Regular Curbside Meal Distribution Resumes on Tuesday, March 16
There is no meal bundle pickup over Spring Break.
Beginning March 16, curbside meals are available for pick-up each Tuesday's from 9:30am - 10:30am and 4:45pm - 6:00pm.

Anyone picking up meals for students, without the student present, must bring appropriate documentation in the form of a school issued ID, report card, parent portal attendance summary form, or birth certificate.
If your Panther student(s) is going to school Face-to-Face and needs more masks to wear at school, we still have Schimelpfenig face masks available for purchase!
Face masks are $8.00 each. Buy in bulk, any combination, for discount: 2 for $7.50 each; 5 for $6.60 each; $10 for $6.00 each. Discount will be calculated at checkout.
